So its been a while since my last post and a lots happened, including the release of a brand new army book! Which I will go into in great detail in my next blog!
But for now, what happened with my Druchii army?!
Well it took a back seat for a while, whilst I was using Ogre Kingdoms, getting them painted and prepared for a tournament, however I have grown bored of them and the whole lot have gone on Ebay!! For the near future I am back playing soley with Dark Elves, however plans have been set in motion to begin a collection of my second favourite Warhammer race, the Wood Elves! Who're probably just as cruel as their Dark Elf cousins, only they dont go looking for trouble as often!
So gaming wise.... I have played 2 games since the re-release of the Dark Elves, a 2000 points game in which I bought the book 10 mins before the game and used an army list designed around the old book and didn't fare well! and a 3k game built to the new books rules which I won significantly, although I think the victory margin belied how close the game really was against my regular and very savvy Skaven playing opponents Dirty vermin!
In the first game of 2000 points I took my standard shooty army list and a host of sorceresses, and proxied in warlocks with my dark riders. in a nutshell, loosing the guiding eye was a blow to me! And using too many casters is more of a hinderance than a help. I did well in the first 2 turns and then Daves Hellpit Abomination rolled up my flank and that was that! I will add in here that Warlocks are utterly incredible and any list without some is missing out big time!
the 3k game was very different, I fielded an almost entirely melee armyand just steam rolled across the board! Although the combats where mostly close momentum can build more momentum!
